The Evolution of K-Pop

As a Gen Xer introduced to K-pop through g.o.d., I quickly became a Shinhwa Changjo and a Fly To The Sky fan. Over the years, BIGBANG became my ultimate bias (V.I.P.), with unforgettable memories like attending their Alive concert in KL in 2012. My playlist expanded to include SuJu (E.L.F), CN Blue (Boice) and newer global sensations like BTS, EXO and Stray Kids.

K-pop’s journey from first-gen pioneers like H.O.T. to today’s global icons shows its incredible evolution. Veterans like Kangta are shaping the industry as producers, while legends like Shinhwa and BIGBANG continue their legacy. G-Dragon’s comeback at the MAMA 2024 was exhilarating, and I hope both Shinhwa and BIGBANG will keep shining in the K-pop scene, bridging past and present for fans across generations.
