🌵 Finished Guardian of the Blades… and wow.

Some stories linger not because of the battles, but because of the people you’d want (or not want) by your side in a desert dust storm. 💨

My personal favorites

1️⃣ Yan Ziniang (燕子娘) - Li Yunxiao(李云霄) 🕊️

  • Courageous & sensible: protected Xiao Qi & Zhi Shilang, stopped Ayuya from being killed.
  • Street-smart, brave, quick-thinking, always one step ahead.
  • Signature line: “Side-eyes the world, saves people anyway.” 🙄💪
  • The kind of ally who turns chaos into manageable risk.

2️⃣ Pei Xingyan(裴行俨)- Liu Yaowen(刘耀文)⚔️

  • Fearless: faced He Yixuan (何义轩) during the Mao village attack out of uniform because he refused to condone the massacre.
  • Principled, courageous, fair-minded.
  • Signature line: “Justice first, uniform second.” 👏
  • Represents moral integrity in a world of brutality.

3️⃣ Zhi Shilang(知世郎)- Sun Yizhou(孙艺洲)🐎

  • Wildcard & comic relief: makes you laugh, unpredictable, horse-riding skills are next level.
  • Signature line: “Wait… what’s he doing now?” 😂
  • The charm and chaos factor - every scene with him is either a laugh or a jaw-drop.

4️⃣ Shu(竖)- Yu Shi(于适)❄️

  • Cold and detached: like frost or a freezer, calculating, precise, utterly unbothered.
  • Signature line: “Stands there like he invented ice.” 🥶
  • Professional mercenary energy - lethal, pragmatic, no-nonsense.

Why they work together
  • Shu & Yan Ziniang: hunter vs. hunted → uneasy allies, growing respect.
  • Shu & Pei Xingyan: skill vs. principle → tension and contrast.
  • Zhi Shilang: the catalyst driving story, laughs and unpredictability.
  • Pei Xingyan & Yan Ziniang: fairness & courage meet cleverness → balance in chaos.
Together, they create a mix of survival, humor, honor and humanity in a harsh desert world. 🌵💨

Funny/Notable Moments
  • Zhi Shilang horse-riding like a desert cowboy 🤠🐎
  • Shu watching chaos unfold 😐🥶 - “Yeah, I see this. Not my problem.”
  • Yan Ziniang side-eyeing everyone 🙄 while stopping attempted murders.

Desert world vibes
  • Sandstorms 🌬️, scorching sun ☀️, twilight shadows 🌄 and quiet tension before fights ⏳.
  • Each character’s essence reflected visually:
    • Shu ❄️ icy gray/blue
    • Yan Ziniang 🕊️ soft sky gradient
    • Pei Xingyan ⚔️ warm golden light
    • Zhi Shilang 🐎 earthy desert tones

Why these characters stuck with me
  • Yan Ziniang: courage + common sense
  • Pei Xingyan: fairness + fearlessness
  • Zhi Shilang: humor + unpredictability
  • Shu: cold precision
Ranking (personal):
1️⃣ Yan Ziniang 🕊️
2️⃣ Pei Xingyan ⚔️
3️⃣ Zhi Shilang 🐎
4️⃣ Shu ❄️

💬 Question for you
If you had to pick one to survive a desert dust storm… who’s your pick? 😏
