To commemorate the 500th post, I decided to do a brief introduction — something I didn’t do when this blog first started.
I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately. Born and bred in Brunei but with a heart shaped by my years in Perth, I’ve realized that even when time stays constant, life has a funny way of changing everything around you. The air smells different, the streets move differently, people behave differently — even priorities shift. Same timezone, totally different world and somehow, a different version of me too.
That’s why I named this blog “Different Location – Same Timezone – Different Life.” It felt right. It captures:
🌍 Place & identity — where you are vs. where you’ve been
⏰ Continuity — time keeps ticking the same, but…
🌱 Change & growth — life feels entirely different depending on context
This blog…
…is just my little avenue to voice what’s going on in my life. What I think. How I feel. The music I’m listening to 🎵. The events that catch my attention.
Nothing fancy — just an occasional journal. Something to reflect on in future years… with a smile 😄, a shake of the head 🤦♀️, a deep sigh 😔, a chuckle 🤭, a frown 😒 or even a “O.o” 🙄 moment when life does that thing it does.
And yes, sometimes I talk about the absurd, like how I can spend 20 minutes trying to find the perfect cup of tea, only to realise I left it in the fridge 🙃. Or how time zones don’t matter when your cat decides 3 a.m. is the perfect time for a cuddle… whether you want it or not 🐱.
